AJAX toaster, made in Japan in the late 1970s or early 1980s, used in Greater Manchester, one of the first of its kind to be imported into the UK, the design includes the unusual feature of a clockwork timer, rather than an automatic pop-up mechanism, meaning the toast could be put on for a precise ammount of time and preventing burnt breakfast.
